Proudly sponsoring the Western Port Oberon Association since 1999 to assist in bringing the former HMAS Otama (pictured) ashore as the centrepiece of a major tourist museum and Maritime Memorial Centre display, at the Heritage listed former BP admin block on the Esplanade, Crib Point. Currently open Friday to Saturday between 10:00am and 3:30pm. Tour groups anytime by appointment with Alf. Melway ref; 165 D10.
Hundreds of items of Navy and merchant service memorabilia are on display, including torpedos, sea to air missile, escape suits, artillery shells, mines, uniforms, Oberon and Collins class submarine plaques, medals, model ships (including the Titanic) etc, etc.
Admission by gold coin donation. All profits go to the community and donations are tax deductable.
